What's the show about?

Written by Catherine Johnson and based around the much-loved music of 70’s super-band ABBA, Mamma Mia! takes all the enchantment of ABBA’s classic hits, such as ‘Dancing Queen’, ‘Waterloo’, ‘Super Trouper’ and ‘The Winner Takes It All’ to create a sunny feast of musical delight. From its opening back in 1999, Mamma Mia! has now been seen by over 42 million people worldwide. The show has audiences dancing and singing in the aisles night after night.

What's the story?

Mamma Mia! tells the charming tale of one woman, Donna, and her struggle with love, family and friendship on a beautiful Greek island. Donna’s daughter Sophie is about to be married and what she wants more than anything in the world is for her father to walk her down the aisle, but she has three possible men to choose from. Like all good teenage daughters, she make the wise decision to invite them all to the island, with the hope of discovering who her real father is before it’s too late. As you can imagine, Donna is not best pleased to be reunited with three past lovers 20 years on...
