Day Tickets
A new trend in the West End is now the selling of Day Tickets. This term is given to tickets that the box office of the theatre sells on the day for that afternoon’s or evening’s performance. Again, it differs from show to show, but usually these tickets are extremely limited (around 10 to 20 tickets) but still excellent seats at much cheaper rate than if you were to purchase them in advance.
The advice here is to get in early – most theatre box offices open around 10-10.30am. You can guarantee that if it’s a popular show, then there will have been a queue outside from around 8am, sometimes even earlier. The reason for this line of people trying to get their hands on Day Tickets is because they are unbelievably cheap! So, if you don’t mind standing or sitting for while, then what’s stopping you?
