Mousetrap Theatre Projects
In 1996, Sir Stephen Waley-Cohen purchased the production rights to the world’s longest-running play, Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap. He decided to give something back and went on to set up an education charity with the goal of bring young people into the West End to experience theatre. Mousetrap Theatre Projects run two main schemes giving students and young people access to extraordinarily cheap theatre tickets.
The first is C145 or See a Show for £5. This allows anyone in state education aged between 15 and 18 to buy their own tickets for a West End show for – yes, you guessed it – just £5! Most tickets to shows are also accompanied by post-show talks with cast members and the creative teams.
The second is WestEnd 4 £10. This hugely successful scheme targets higher education students, specifically across London and the South-east offering them £10 tickets to a series of shows throughout the year. Again, visits are accompanied by talks, workshops and platforms.
